The award for the 10 most bicycle-friendly educational facilities forms the start of a long-term project: with the support of numerous sponsors, several hundred bicycles are to be sold at a special price to schools throughout Germany in the years to come.
The prototype of the "school bike" is already rolling off the production line. It excels with safety features and trendy accessories. The professional maintenance of the bikes handed over as part of the project will be performed by specialised dealers who have got together in a purchasing cooperative under the trade name Bike & Co.
The "Fahrrad Essen" has developed in recent years into a world of popular cycling experience and the most important fair platform of this branch in NRW. The products on offer for children and youths is also great. With the "School Bike" project, the fair is backing up its commitment to young, cycling enthusiasts. Cycling, learned properly, is important and promotes two very important things: clever traffic participants and active climate protection.
